Hi! Welcome to KindleFireKeyboards.com, your one-stop source for everything relating to Kindle Fire keyboards.
In early September 2012, Amazon announced the new family of Kindle Fire’s. Along with the high-definition screens and Dolby stereo speakers, the new Kindle Fire has bluetooth capabilities. While this technology allows you to connect a variety of accessories, the ability to use a physical external keyboard with your Kindle Fire is by far the most exciting. This will allow the new Kindle Fires to take direct aim at the other high selling tablets out there, including the iPad (and at a fraction of the cost).
So what exactly is bluetooth? Well, I could go into detail and write you a 10 page paper on the history, capabilities, pro and cons of this technology, but you don’t need to know all that! (but if you really want to, you can check out the Wikipedia page here) All that you need to know is that is enables you to use a specially designed wireless keyboard to interact with your Kindle Fire HD.
First, a word of warning though. Bluetooth is not included on the original Kindle Fire released in late 2011 and is also not included in the upgraded Kindle Fire released at the same time as the “HD” versions. Be sure your Fire is capable using bluetooth before purchasing any keyboards. You can get help on finding out if your Kindle Fire is the HD version by clicking here.
